September Flash Fiction: Shark by John Greiner

Shark

John Greiner

Your shark appeared off of the shores of Western Africa while I was shaving.  I heard screams and trimmed my nose hairs.  All these people on the coast have to come up with a better way for making a living than fishing and gun running.  All of these floundering revolutions turn to ashes on the embers.  Even the cannibals starve here.

John Greiner’s poetry and fiction have been published in BlazeVOX, Sein und Werden, Structo, and numerous other magazines. His collections of short stories include Shooting Side Glances (ISMs Press, Manchester, UK, 2011) and Relics From a Hell’s Kitchen Pawn Shop, (Ronin Press, London, UK, 2010).
